In April 2004, Terry Connelly was appointed dean of the Ageno School of Business at Golden Gate University. Most recently before joining GGU, Connelly was director of strategic advisory services at Ernst & Young Australia and served on the adjunct faculty of the Queensland University of Technology Graduate School of Business.
Connelly began his professional career in 1968 as an attorney with the New York law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore where his experience included corporate, securities and litigation practice in New York and London. This was followed by 18 years of service with the Salomon Brothers investment banking business where he became a managing director and chief of staff in 1987. From 1995 through 1998, Connelly served as chief executive of Cowen & Company’s investment banking business, which focuses on the life sciences and technology industries.
Connelly holds a BA from The Catholic University of America and a law degree from NYU School of Law. During his career, he has served in the capacity of member and chair of a variety of associations including the Corporate Finance Committee of the Securities Industry Association, the Program Council of the Center for International Studies and Liberal Arts at Connecticut College, the Dean’s Advisory Council for the New York University School of Law and was a fellow of The Aspen Institute.
